Golden Bachelorette’s Joan Vassos Shares Her Love Story and Life After the Show

Joan Vassos, star of The Golden Bachelorette, is proving that love can bloom at any stage in life. The 62-year-old reality TV star recently opened up about her relationship with fiancé Chock Chapple — and why they’re in no rush to tie the knot.

Joan and Chock got engaged during the show’s finale in November 2024. While many fans keep asking when the wedding is happening, Joan says they’re simply enjoying the moment. “We’re happy. We’re learning more about each other every day. There’s no pressure — we just want to enjoy this time together,” she shared.

Unlike younger couples, Joan says there’s no rush to move in or build a new life from scratch. “We both have our own homes, grown kids, and stable lives. Now it’s about enjoying what we have,” she explained.

Finding Love Later in Life

Joan wants to inspire others in their 50s and 60s to believe in love again. “This stage of life is actually a great time to date. You have time, freedom, and resources. If you’re healthy and open-hearted, love can be amazing at any age,” she said.

Honoring Her Late Husband

Joan was married to her late husband, John, for 32 years before he passed away in 2021. She keeps his memory alive by participating in events like the PanCAN PurpleStride walk in Washington, D.C., raising awareness for pancreatic cancer.

Though Chock couldn’t attend the charity walk, he fully supports Joan’s mission. “He knows how important this is to me. Talking about John keeps his memory alive and helps others going through similar battles,” she said.

No Wedding Date Yet — And That’s Okay

Joan made it clear that there’s no rush to plan a wedding. “We will get married, but right now, we’re just enjoying dating and traveling. People need to understand this is our version of happiness,” she said with a smile.

Her story is a beautiful reminder that life and love don’t follow a schedule — and sometimes, the best things happen when you least expect them.
