Scheana Shay Breaks Her Silence: A Brave Look Into Love, Betrayal, and Redemption
Scheana Shay Breaks Her Silence: A Brave Look Into Love, Betrayal, and Redemption
By Ghanns
After years of pouring her heart out on Vanderpump Rules, Scheana Shay is finally telling her story — in her own words. With her upcoming memoir My Good Side, set to release on July 22, Shay opens up about the most private chapters of her life, including her husband Brock Davies’ betrayal, the lingering scars of past relationships, and her journey through trauma and healing.
The Shocking Revelation About Brock
In a twist many fans never saw coming, Scheana reveals that Brock Davies, her husband and father of her daughter Summer, cheated on her while she was pregnant. The affair happened in 2021, but Scheana only learned the truth during the height of the Scandoval fallout in 2023. Instead of spiraling or breaking down publicly, she chose to process the betrayal in private, with the help of therapy and introspection.
Though devastated, Scheana made the difficult decision to stay in the relationship. Why? Her daughter was her anchor. “If it weren’t for Summer, I would’ve walked away,” she admitted. But instead of reacting with public outbursts or drama, Scheana focused on healing and transparency — both in her marriage and now, through her memoir.
From “Home-Wrecker” to Healing
Scheana is no stranger to controversy. Long before Vanderpump Rules, she was known for her affair with then-married actor Eddie Cibrian — a label she says she’s carried like a scarlet letter ever since. Now, with reflection and maturity, she takes full accountability for her role in that story, admitting that her decision to speak publicly at the time was both selfish and immature.
But she also doesn’t shy away from calling out the double standards. “He was 33. I was 21. He lied to me,” she points out. She acknowledges the pain caused to Brandi Glanville and says she regrets how that story came to light — not just because of the backlash, but because of the pain it caused another woman.
VPR: Not As Real As You Think?
Scheana’s book doesn’t just explore her relationships — it peels back the curtain on reality TV itself. While Vanderpump Rules has long claimed to be unscripted, she admits that at least one major scene — a staged fight with Lala Kent — was completely fake. It was a desperate attempt to save their spots on the show. In her words, it was “the only time we faked something,” revealing just how far cast members are willing to go for job security.
She also accuses VPR queenpin Lisa Vanderpump of manipulating real-life pain for television success, particularly during the infamous moment when Scheana and Brandi were brought face-to-face on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Embracing Motherhood and Mental Health
Motherhood hasn’t been easy for Scheana. In her book, she shares the terrifying birth of her daughter Summer, who arrived after Scheana was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome — a rare and potentially fatal pregnancy complication. Summer was born limp and unresponsive, and those haunting first moments shaped much of Scheana’s postnatal mental health journey.
She also discusses her struggle with postpartum OCD, a condition that left her feeling constantly anxious and fearful for her child’s safety. Today, she manages it through therapy and medication, and she’s determined to be transparent about her experience to help others.
A New Chapter, On Her Terms
At 40, Scheana Shay is no longer the wide-eyed 20-something chasing fame. She’s a mother, a survivor, and a woman finally taking control of her own story. My Good Side isn’t just a memoir — it’s a declaration. One that says healing is possible, growth is real, and redemption doesn’t always come wrapped in a perfect bow.
As she says in the book, “I’m not chasing anyone’s approval anymore. I just want to be understood.”
