Investments Reach Record High, Surpass Rs 25,000 Crore for the First Time”
In October 2024, investments in mutual funds through monthly Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) reached a record high, surpassing the Rs 25,000-crore mark for the first time, as investors continued to increase their exposure despite a bearish market trend during the month.
According to data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), the SIP book hit Rs 25,322.74 crore in October, marking an all-time peak compared to Rs 24,509 crore in September.
The number of SIP accounts also surged to a new high, reaching 10.12 crore in October, up from 9.87 crore in September.
Additionally, October saw the addition of 24.19 lakh new SIP accounts, reflecting the optimism of retail investors in India’s market. A total of 63.69 lakh new SIP registrations were recorded during the month.
